S.A. TALKE Waste Free Environment Campaigns 2018

S.A. TALKE Waste Free Environment Campaign 2018

S.A. TALKE is conscious of its responsibility towards the environment and the communities in which it operates. Among its corporate sustainability initiatives during 2018 was a Waste Free Environment campaign held at several schools around the Kingdom.

Sustainable practices which protect and preserve the environment are essential if we are to leave the planet in good shape for future generations. By being a responsible corporate citizen, S.A. TALKE hopes to set an example for the community.

The first of these events took place on 19 February 2018 at Abu Dhar Al Ghafari Primary School in Rabigh. Ten members of S.A. TALKE management and staff were joined by representatives from Petro Rabigh as they conducted several activities for 60 students aged, 5 to 10, and their teachers. The educational programme was aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues and how the children could play their part in reducing waste at an individual level. S. A. TALKE also led the pupils on a clean-up activity around their school.

Upon completion, S.A. TALKE presented each participant with a certificate of recognition and gift voucher. The company also gifted three flat screen TVs and a projector to the school which can be used to screen educational films. The school in turn presented S.A. TALKE with a commemorative plaque as a token of appreciation.

The second event was held in collaboration with Natpet on 25 February 2018 at Makarem Annakheel Village Resort in Jeddah and was attended by over 150 local school students. The fun day out consisted of activities such as face painting, art stations, and other children’s entertainment, all focused on the theme of environmental conservation. To demonstrate how fragile marine environments can be, a group of 12 deep sea divers conducted a cleaning activity in the sea.

The biggest event took place at Al-Hussan Education and Training Institute, Jubail, where S.A. TALKE staff led 50 students and faculty members through a number of fun and educational activities. The children received a short talk on environmental awareness and learned how to plant and care for seedlings. The highlight of the day was when the students helped clean up their school grounds wearing ‘I Am Green’ t-shirts supplied by S.A. TALKE to help them reinforce their commitment to protecting the enviroment. Afterwards, the children enjoyed face painting, games, and nutritious snacks. All participants received certificates of appreciation from S. A. TALKE.
